South Puget Sound Community College
Running Start Fee Waiver & Book Loan Application
Running Start students are required to pay all applicable tuition and fees for the courses they take at South Puget Sound Community College. Students who feel they qualify for a tuition and fee waiver must fill out and submit this form online and submit financial documentation to the One Stop in building 22.
aivers are valid for one academic year, but Book Loan applications (this form) are required each quarter.
Forms must be received no later than tuition due date to avoid fee/tuition charges. If you submit this form after tuition due date, you will have to pay any owing fees and/or tuition out of pocket to avoid being dropped for non-payment from your classes. Reimbursement will occur after the application is approved and processed. This can take up to two weeks after you submit the form.
Fees that cannot be waived:
Private Lessons Fees (ex: Private music lessons)
You must register for classes before submitting this form. Forms submitted after the 10th day of the current quarter will be processed for the next quarter and are valid for the remainder of the academic year (fall-spring quarters).

Book Loan Program
Any Running Start student who qualifies for Fee Waiver also qualifies for our book loan program. Book Loan is done by lottery based on all applicants who submit this application prior to tuition due date for the quarter. Applications submitted after tuition due date will be assessed for any materials we still have on hand. Book Loan will only cover courses within the Running Start funding limits. Funding is extremely limited and not everyone will receive assistance.
Digital materials such as web-sam or supersite key codes, one time use CDs, and consumable materials like workbooks cannot be provided through the Book Loan program. If you are enrolled in courses that require these materials, you will be responsible for purchasing them.
If you have a hold on your account or are not registered for classes, you will not be considered for Book Loan. Book Loan is issued only for the classes you are enrolled in at the time of this application. If you change classes or are enrolled off of a waitlist after you submit this form you are not guaranteed assistance for those courses. *THIS FORM MUST BE COMPLETED QUARTERLY FOR BOOK LOAN*
